PMBOK SAGA: The Procurement Selection Criteria Process

Ways of Working
Description The art and science of selecting a supplier is one of those areas marred with malpractice and controversy. It is one of those areas that call for men and women of integrity. The selection of suppliers and service providers has caused the arrest and sacking of public officers in many countries; rich and poor, developed and the so called third world countries. Tender adjudication is the best environment for the crooked who want to line their pockets and make easy money. Most positions of procurement officers are reserved for the kith and keen of the “who is whos” of the society. The greatest question is can this be reversed in society? What does the PMBOK say? What are we doing? Does it align with the PMBOK? How do we bridge the gap between theory and practice? Can Zimbabwe overcome the woes associated with the way tenders are selected. Will “tender-preneurship” be purged and how? Speaker: Augustine Gwinyai Kubara
