PMI Africa is calling all rising stars (aged 18-25) in Africa to design the Africa Project Economy today by accepting the Youthquake Challenge.

Create a 3-5 minutes video pitching an unconventional project idea that will drive technological, economical, or societal advancements in Africa. Explain how you will use project management to deliver a customer or stakeholder-driven solution.

The current global environment is described as VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous). This environment, characterized by rapid changes, dynamism, changing market trends, digital transformations as well as intense competition, is causing a lot of disruption across all sector of the economy and society.  As such organisations, public and private, profit and non-profit, are faced with new challenges from regulatory, social, competitive, technological, stakeholder, and customer expectation.

Most organizations are holding on to or developing some form of strategy to help them survive these rough waters. Regardless of industry or market sector, organizations are using projects to drive and deliver their strategy. The successful implementation of strategy can therefore be said to depend on successful completion of projects.

The Project Management profession is being recognized as an essential competency for organizational and individual success in these uncertain times. The Zimbabwe Chapter of the Project Management Institute, is organizing a 2020 Annual Conference with the theme “Achieving Success Through Project Management”. The conference aims to answer questions like “How can organizations successfully use project management to deliver success?”, “How can project practitioners acquire and/or improve the competencies required to professionally manage projects successfully?”, “What factors lead to project management success?”.

The 2020 event will be our first online conference. We have now opened our ‘Call to Speakers’, and we invite Business leaders, Project/Program/Portfolio Managers, Industry leaders, Agile Practitioners and Technology Leaders to create videos or presentations that will inspire delegates during the event.

PMP Initiative Information Session 3 – Zimbabwe Workshop

The PMP initiative 2020 seeks to help PMP aspirants to achieve PMP certification through workshop information sessions and study group recommendations. The workshop will guide PMP aspirants through the PMP Exam Requirements and Exam essentials, introduce them to the PMP Toolkit, advise them on what they can expect from the local chapter, guide them to testing centre locations and assist them with registration and payment information. Those that sign up will receive a discounted price on PMI membership and the PMP exam, which applies to both members and non-members.
